It's sad for humans that we dogs don't live as long as they do, so there comes a time when they have to say goodbye to us.

Anika was nearly fourteen, which made her a very old lady, and recently she had found living quite hard work. Over the last few weeks she became very frail and found it difficult to raise the energy to do anything, even ignoring the arrival of our friend Niki, who is usually greeted with lots of frantic tail wags and big sloppy kisses. When she couldn't even be bothered to eat her dinner, we sadly knew that the time had come to say goodbye. She went to visit our lovely vet, Dr Luca, one last time and passed peacefully away with Niki and the boss by her side.
