A Dog for all Reasons
Cesky Terriers can turn their paws to almost anything!
We love to 'meet and greet'

Our friends from the Gayteckels gang can often be found on the breed's Discover Dogs stand at Crufts. There you can see all the different breeds and talk to our owners, who will tell you what it's really like to live with a Cesky Terrier! We also like to go to the Game Fair and other country shows, and have even been seen on the Canine Catwalk at the National Pet Show.
All these events give us a chance to tell people all about our breed, because many people have never heard about us.

Show Dog
Becoming a successful show dog isn't just luck. We have to be fit and healthy and have a good temperament. Then we have to be bathed and brushed so that our coats look perfect. We have to go to training class to learn how to walk and stand correctly - and our handler has to learn how to move us at the correct speed. Yakira and Ivan (Idefix Day Break) got it just right!
Junior Handling is an activity enjoyed by many young people with their dogs. The Young Kennel Club offers a range of activities in addition to show handling, teaches the value of good manners and sportsmanship, as well as enabling youngsters the chance to have fun with their dogs.

Pet Dog
A well-trained dog is a happy dog! Lots of Cesky Terriers have taken part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme. Any dog can take part in the scheme, young or old, pedigree or not.
Gracie (Placido Oriana at Bleuetopia) and Reni (Placido Proper Player at Bleuetopia) have both won the Gold Award. Pamatka proved that we dogs can multi-task by passing the Bronze level and winning BOB on the same day.

It's a well-known fact that exercise is good for us - both humans and canines, so what can be better than meeting up with friends for a countryside ramble - whatever the weather!

Working Dog
The Cesky Terrier has always been a dog that is expected to fulfil three separate functions: a family pet, with a good temperament and sociable nature, a glamourous show dog, and - most importantly - a working dog, able to follow a scent through the woods. Cesky Terriers love to use their noses and, although we don't hunt wild boar in the UK, several are proving useful as deer trackers.

There are other activities that encourage Cesky Terriers to use their incredible scenting powers.
Silas (Grancek Slavny Sandor) has tried his paw very successfully at barn hunt.
Whatever you want us to do, we Cesky Terriers will always do our best to please you.
