The Kvitko Connection
The Cesky Terrier was created by František Horák (Lovu zdar) whose aim was to produce the 'ideal' terrier, a dog that could work in the countryside, would be an easily-prepared show dog and, most importantly, be a loyal family companion.

His daughter, Jitka Paulinova, carried on his work, establishing her Kvitko kennel as a teenager in 1971. I have been very privileged to own three Kvitko-bred terriers, as well as a fourth that, although not bearing the Kvitko affix, was out of a Kvitko bitch, and have based my breeding programme on those lines.

The very first Cesky Terrier to arrive in the UK was Erb Lovu zdar, bred by Mr Horák and imported by Harold and Liz Gay. He then came to live with me as part of Team Ridley.
