A Cesky Terrier can turn his paw to anything!

Whatever their other activities, the one thing that Cesky Terriers excel at, above all else, is to be a loving companion. They are devothed to their families, and particularly to children.

We love to 'meet and greet'

Our friends from the Gayteckels gang can often be found on the breed's Discover Dogs stand at Crufts. There you can see all the different breeds and talk to our owners, who will tell you what it's really like to live with a Cesky Terrier! We also like to go to the Game Fair and other country shows, and have even been seen on the Canine Catwalk at the National Pet Show.

All these events give us a chance to tell people all about our breed, because many people have never heard about us.

Show Dog

Becoming a successful show dog isn't just luck. We have to be fit and healthy and have a good temperament. Then we have to be bathed and brushed so that our coats look perfect. We have to go to training class to learn how to walk and stand correctly - and our handler has to learn how to move us at the correct speed.

Junior Handling is an activity enjoyed by many young people with their dogs. The Young Royal Kennel Club offers a range of activities in addition to show handling - agility, obedience, even grooming.

It teaches the value of good manners and sportsmanship, as well as enabling youngsters the chance to have fun with their dogs.

Good Citizens

A well-trained dog is a happy dog! Lots of Cesky Terriers have taken part in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Training Scheme. Quite a few Ridley Cesky Terriers have won the Bronze award, several (including Pamatka, seen here after gaining her Bronze award and taking BOB on the same day at Leeds Championship show) attained Silver, whilst Javor and Obroda both reached Gold level.
